Whether you’re a curious beginner or a more advanced artist seeking a community to create with, these classes will help you improve technique and learn new skills (e.g. portraiture, botanical drawing, conceptual art, sequential narrative, character creation and much more!).
I believe anyone can learn to draw, as long as they have the patience and willingness to challenge themself and keep trying, even when things get a little tough!
Who is Katherine Hunter?
Katherine Hunter started her art journey at the age of 7, when she joined art classes taught by Helga Mertens. She continued her journey after school, when she attended the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography, majoring in Illustration. After that, she completed her Honour’s degree in Illustration and her Master’s degree in Art Education at the Stellenbosch University. She received all her degrees Cum Laude.
Katherine works as a graphic designer during her ‘day job’, where she has gained valuable experience navigating the creative industry as a working professional. This includes extensive creative output, constant innovative idea generation, staying up to date with the newest design tools and working in a team with other designers, as well as copywriters, marketing managers and brand managers.
